White flowers and greenery are a classic wedding combination, but that does not mean the finished design has to feel predictable.
For this wedding at Daniel’s Ridge in Sanford, North Carolina, a timeless white and green floral palette was carried throughout the reception using statement greenery, white blooms, bud vases, candlelight and several unexpected floral details.
The result was elegant and cohesive while beautifully complementing the light filled interior and warm wood details of Daniel’s Ridge.
Located in the countryside of Lee County just outside Sanford, Daniel’s Ridge features a bright reception space with white shiplap walls, a stained wood cathedral ceiling and abundant natural light. Those neutral architectural details provide a beautiful backdrop for wedding flowers and allow even a restrained color palette to make an impact.
A Statement Sweetheart Table
The sweetheart table became one of the strongest floral focal points of the reception.
Tall, organic greenery installations accented with white flowers framed the couple’s table and drew the eye toward the center of the room. Additional white and green floral arrangements at floor level created another layer of texture and helped visually anchor the design.
Rather than relying on one oversized centerpiece, the flowers surrounded the sweetheart table at several heights. This created a more dimensional look while allowing the architecture behind the table to remain visible.
White roses, hydrangea and lush foliage continued the wedding’s classic palette, while the loose movement of the greenery kept the design from feeling overly formal.
This is one of our favorite ways to approach a sweetheart table. Instead of treating it as simply another table that needs flowers, we can use it as a reception focal point that helps bring the entire floral design together.
Using the Reception Space at Daniel’s Ridge
One of the advantages of floral design at Daniel’s Ridge is the neutral reception space.
The white shiplap walls and warm stained plank cathedral ceiling create contrast without forcing couples into a particular wedding color palette. The venue also receives plenty of natural light, which photographs beautifully throughout the room.
For this celebration, the predominantly white and green flowers worked naturally with the space.
Greenery chandeliers overhead introduced another layer of foliage, while white reception flowers and warm candlelight kept the tables refined and understated.
The overall design demonstrates something we often emphasize with our couples: not every part of the reception needs to contain a large floral arrangement.

Simple Wedding Centerpieces with White Roses and Candlelight
The guest tables continued the floral palette with an intentionally lighter approach.
Individual white roses and delicate greenery were arranged in clear glass bud vases and paired with candles in varying heights. Gold accents added warmth to the tablescape and complemented the natural wood details throughout the reception space.
Bud vase centerpieces are especially effective when the goal is to create floral interest without filling every table with a large arrangement.
Rather than one central mass of flowers, the individual stems allow the design to move along the table. When combined with candlelight, glassware and place settings, the entire tablescape becomes part of the composition.
This style can also provide a beautiful visual contrast when larger statement floral pieces are being used elsewhere in the reception.
A Floral Escort Card Display Guests Could Take Home
One of the most memorable floral details from this wedding was the guest seating display.
Rows of individual white roses were paired with guest names and arranged across a custom “Be Our Guest” escort display. Greenery surrounding the base connected the installation to the rest of the reception floral design.
Instead of using flowers only as decoration, this design incorporated them into the guest experience.
Each rose became both part of the overall installation and an individual floral detail for the guest receiving it.
Creative floral displays like this are a wonderful example of how wedding flowers can extend beyond bouquets and centerpieces. Welcome displays, seating charts, bars, fireplaces and other areas guests naturally interact with can all become opportunities for intentional floral design.
